Kenneth W. Gates is a native hoosier, born in Evansville, IN. He began his life of singing the gospel as a boy in church singing in trio with his sister and aunt. He continued to develop his singing abilities through training at Olivet Nazarene University, graduating in 1970 with a B.S. degree in Church Music and Choral Conducting, with a specialization in Voice. One of the highlights of his college experience was to be chosen to sing the bass solos in Handel’s Messiah during his senior year, in addition to soloing with Viking Male Chorus and singing in Kingdom Builders Quartet.
He has held several ministerial positions during his work in The Church of the Nazarene and The Wesleyan Church. Among them are pastor, assistant pastor, head chaplain of county jail, song evangelist and gospel singer, and evangelist (since 2001).

Daughter Jennifer is a piano teacher/accompanist and worship music coordinator at Hope Community Church, Indianapolis, IN.
Grandson Linus was born on Aug. 20, 2008.

Reverend Gates founded Ken Gates Ministries, Inc in October 2005.
The focus of his ministry is to bring biblically-based preaching to challenge the church to be empowered by God for service and become instruments of honor, praise, and worship to the Lord.
In addition to his concerts, retreats, camps, revivals, and Dynamite Sundays, Ken also offers to local churches the following workshops:
